When he became the king he also seek the counsel of the elder and cast ifa divination in how he he can improve the economic and social wellbeing of the town. He was advise to offer sacrifice which he complied. The town became prosperous during his reign that is how Olabanle move from rag to richest and power.

What actually happened in this verse of odu oyeku. Meji is that this person is undergoing suffering in his place of work. This farmers has been planting every season without a good harvest. Each person should eliminate his or her parents. Starting from the Prince to the least among them. But there is a youth call Opitan who deem it feet to hide his own father in a cafe. After all the youth have eliminate all the elder. They become beheft of knowledge on how to to find solutions to the problem that do arises. When there is a problem. Opitan will said relax give a day or two to make consultation as to get solution. He will then during the night visit his father in Cafe and seek direction and wisdom wish he will in turn use to solve the problem for the rest of the town the following day. This continue for all long time and they unanimously decided that Opitan should bring this person Giving him counsel to become their king instead of waiting for days of consultation before they can solve the problem arises. Opitan let them know it is his father. They all amazed and said ho will still have good elder in the land. That is how they crown Alapa as King. And every thing become normal for them.

LESSON TO LEARN FROM THIS ODU

 patience and understanding is required for leadership if the king have exercise patience with the priest the whole elder of the town will not have been killed.

It is not good to follow the crowd. Opitan have his own independent decision wish later safe the whole generation by not joining them in killing his parents

Red cloth had sacrificed on that very same day, so Death spared it’s life and did not kill red cloth. That is the reason why today we don’t bury a corpse in red cloth. If a corpse is to be buried, people will say, “Ah, this cloth is red! Don’t bury him/her in it! This one is red, don’t use it to bury him/her.” Yes, this is the reason why we do not bury dead bodies with red cloth. When Death arrived, he collected all of the different colored cloths and carried them off to heaven, but he spared the life of red cloth.
