PERIOD/SPOTTING OF BLOOD DURING PREGNANCY TREATMENT IN YORUBA HERBAL MEDICINE

In this current work Babalawo Obanifa will document in detail
varieties Of Herbal formulae available in Yoruba herbal Medicine that can be
use for treating of spotting or period during pregnancy. It is believe that
when a woman is pregnant, he ought not to see blood again or menstruation aging
till she delivers the baby. But is some cases there may be a situation where a
woman will still been spotting blood or even having her period when the pregnancy
is still intact. She will be seeing blood or even be doing her full monthly
menstruation. This syndrome is what our forefather called Aisan riri Eje le
Oyun(spotting blood/having period during pregnancy).Below are documentation
of the herbal formulae use by our forefather against such condition.

Irukere Agbado(Maize flower)
Afomo ogiri(Irun ori eniyan ti won fi bo Iho Ogiri)(the hair
of human head that is insert in the wall) You will remove it
Apadi to doju de ogiri(A broken calabash that face the wall)
Kokoro Ire meta(Three cricket Insect)
Odidi Ataare kan(A whole Alligator pepper)
Preparation
The entire aforementioned item on the list will be burn together.
The woman will be mixing it to take Eko tutu(cold corn meal) . The spotting
will stop.

Ewe Abirikolo tutu(fresh
leaves of eclipta prostate)
Aso weji kirijipa( a variety of strong fabric as
shown here)
Preparation
You will put the water in a clean bowl. You will
squeeze the two items together. Sieve the content and pour the herbal content
obtain in the process in the bottle.
Uses
The woman will be drinking regularly.

Igbo kan(fresh marijuana
plant)
Ogede dudu kan(unripe musa sapentum fruits)
Preparation
You will blend the two aforementioned to fine
paste or powder.
Uses
The woman will be adding one table spoon of the
powder to eko gbigbo(hot corn meal) in the morning daily.
